Vice President Jim McLester, W4YXU, announced the program for tonight's meeting.
Treasurer Jack Evans, KC4PZA, announced the following bank account balances:
Savings - $2,485.89
Checking - $73.37
Repeater fund - $979.43
Secretary Frank Hoult, KI4VVI reported that the Birmingham News has given us two more announcements since our last meeting.
MEC Rod Scott, N1YZ, told that VP Jim McLester has been added to the Net COntrol Station rotation list.
President Bill Davidson asked for volunteers for the upcoming BARC Hamfest on May 3rd & 4th.
No new members were present.
Repeater Chairman Bob Thomas, KC4AF, proposed that the club purchase a new controller. As part of this new controller system, President Bill Davidson proposed that we move the Club's IC-221A from the Red Cross inventory to the repeater inventory.
Red Cross Liaison Jack Evans said that the Red Cross plans to move into their new location by May 1st.
EMA Liaison Jack WIlder, WB4CCQ, asked for volunteers to help on the April 26th work party at the EMA headquarters in Columbiana.
Web Master Rod Scott praised John Murphy KA4YXL for his work on updating and re-designing the club's website.
EMA Construction liaison Rod Scott confirmed the upcoming 4/26/08 work party.
John Wilder announced that N4HUB upgraded his license to Amateur Extra.
President Bill Davidson read a report from Les Rayburn, N1LF, confirming that the repeater link to the Tuscaloosa Repeater worked well.
Bill also discussed the details of the upcoming Alabama QSO Party on June 6th from 11am to 11pm.
Steven Moss asked for 4 to 5 volunteers for the Diabetes Bike Run on 4/26. He also mentioned that the Search & Rescue exercise is scheduled for May 17th at 4:00pm.
Bill took a poll of how many members would be interested in attending a Skywarn class. He will discuss further details at a future meeting.
Charles Spanos, N4DKE, gave a presentation on "Low HF WIre Antennas".
Bill announced that FEMA uses the 220mhz. band.
The meeting concluded at 7:55pm.
